2. The great path of the southern Pyrenees

Did you like the GR 10?

You will love the GR 11!

We organize your self-guided trek from the Principality of Andorra to the Mediterranean: reservations, transfers, assistance, supplies, maps, and a guidebook. The route offers a wide variety of landscapes, including magnificent high mountain sections between Cerdanya and Ripollès. Halfway through your stay, the paths become less steep, and you approach the sea through cork oak woods and olive groves. Arriving at the extreme tip of Cap de Creus is a superb reward! To better enjoy this magnificent route through the Catalan Pyrenees, you might enjoy splitting it into two separate stays: spring and autumn.

Part One:

Departing from Andorra: the superb Madriu-Perafita Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Day 1), high-perched passes and the pleasant crossing of the Cerdanya plateau (Days 2 - 3). Mid-journey stop in Puigcerdà. Through high-altitude pastures, we reach the Puigmal massif and the Núria cirque, then the cutting of the border ridges (Days 4 - 5). Then discover the sources of the River Ter to follow its course towards the final destination: Camprodon or Molló (Days 6 - 7).

Part Two:

From Molló to Beget, entry into the Alta Garrotxa. At the foot of Mount Bassegoda, the famous gorges and the hermitage of Sant Aniol (Days 1 - 2). We cross the wooded massifs of Salines and Albera in the foothills to reach the Empordà plain, its vineyards and olive groves, then the shores of the Costa Brava (Days 3 - 4 - 5). Via the monastery of St Pere de Rodes, entry into the Cap de Creus Natural Park (Days 6 - 7). Superb finale on the coastal path to reach Cadaqués and taste "cava" and "tapas".
