               CAP de CREUS NATURAL PARC
                              Salvador Dali's land of dreams

The peninsula named “Cape of Crosses” covers over 13000 ha. It boasts rich bio-diversity, a healthy marine ecosystem, endemic plants and flowers and exceptional landscapes.
The combination of both marine and inland environments, the amazing silhouettes of rocks sculpted by sea and wind and the contrasts in colour display a fascinating atmosphere of wild beauty.
A main source of inspiration for Dali, whose house can be visited near Cadaquès, it is the perfect location for a leisurely break.

Some areas classified as "total reserve" are ideal for birdwatching. Architectural masterpieces like the Benedictine monastery Sant Pere de Rodes are also present.
The final trail is a coastline walk leading to the beautiful bay of Roses.
Forget the image of "Costa Brava" as the place for mass tourism, crowded beaches and ugly coastal buildings! Along with the French             Vermillion Coast, the rocky             coastline of Catalunya
provides more than
100 km of scenic
footpaths linking up
panoramic capes,
lonely creeks and
picturesque ports.

The Alberes range, culminating at 1250 m, combines Pyrenean and Mediterranean influences favouring a rich variety of forests
of oak and beech trees.
Along the GR10, walkers follow the pastures
of the border crests enjoying striking panoramas over plains and mountains from
a medieval watchtower.
After crossing a Nature Reserve, the path goes down to the rocky coastline, the picturesque ports of Collioure and Port Vendres and the terraces of the Banyuls vineyards.
